Standard Blade for Slide

Standard Blade for Slide

A Keyport Key Blade is a patented key blank with a one-size-fits-all head, sized to drop into the Keyport Slide and replace the standard keys on your ring. Keyport Key Blades are compatible with all Keyport Slide models, including Slide V.01, Slide 2.0, Slide 3.0 (4-Port and 6-Port), and the new Slide 4.0 LE1. Blades will not fit in the Keyport Pivot.

Why a Keyport Key Blade Matters

The one-size-fits-all head is the engineering that makes the Slide work. The Slide deploys keys one at a time through spring-loaded nodes that require every key to share a single head profile. A standard ring of mixed key heads cannot stack inside the Slide without binding, flexing, or jingling. Blades solve that: multiple keys in one stack, one-handed deployment, no jingle in the pocket. Every generation of the Slide since 2007 uses the same Blade format, so buyers who bought a Slide V.01 can still order Blades today.

Instructions for Ordering New Blades

There are tens of thousands of different key blanks out there. But no worries, you don't need any knowledge of key types to order the Blades you need. Our key experts will ensure you get the correct Blades when you submit a picture of your keys on the Key ID Form. Simply order Standard Blades for all your different keys including high-security, home, lock, office, auto, moto, etc.

When Your Key Is Not in Our Catalog

For high-security, restricted, or non-standard keys that fall outside our blank inventory, Keyport offers a Custom Blade Conversion service. Mail us a working copy of your key and our technicians remove the original head, attach our universal Keyport head to the body, and return the converted Blade to you ready to drop into your Slide. The result is the same one-handed silent carry as a standard Blade, on a key no other system can accommodate. No key gets left off the Slide.

Instructions for Reordering the Same Blades from a Previous Order

If you are replacing a Blade for the exact same lock you have ordered for previously, simply add the number of Blades you need to your cart and write the [code] x [quantity] in the Special Instructions for Seller field at checkout. For example: SC1 x 2, KW1 x 1, NA14 x 1.

Important: the code-based reorder only works when the lock has not changed. A new house, new car, or replaced lock almost always uses a different key type, even when the lock brand is the same. For any new lock, submit fresh photos via the Key ID Form below so we can identify the correct blank.

How to Submit Your Keys for Identification

  1. Print the Key ID Form.
  2. Fill out the form with as much information about your keys as possible, including all of the information written on the keys themselves.
  3. Lay your keys on the form and take photos of the top and bottom (see instructions on page 2 of form), and submit them to our Key ID Form secure upload facility.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Keyport Key Blades

What is a Keyport Key Blade?

A Keyport Key Blade is a patented key blank with a one-size-fits-all head profile that drops into the Keyport Slide. Blades replace standard keys (house, car, office, mailbox, high-security) inside every generation of the Slide, including V.01, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 LE1. The uniform head is the engineering that lets the Slide's spring-loaded nodes deploy one key at a time without the others moving.

Will a Keyport Blade fit my Pivot 2.0?

No. Blades are compatible with Slide V.01, Slide 2.0, Slide 3.0 (4-Port and 6-Port), and Slide 4.0 LE1. The Pivot 2.0 holds standard keys with a hole at the top and does not use Blades.

How do I order Blades for the first time?

  1. Add one Standard Blade to your cart for each key you want to carry (house, car, office, mailbox, high-security). Complete checkout.
  2. Print the Key ID Form and fill it out with as much detail about your keys as possible, including any codes or stampings on the keys themselves.
  3. Lay your keys on the form and take clear photos of the top and bottom (see instructions on page 2 of the form).
  4. Submit your completed form and photos through our secure Key ID Form upload.
  5. Our key experts identify the correct blank type for each key (SC1, KW1, NA14, and thousands more) and ship the matching Blades.
  6. Take your Blades to any locksmith or hardware store for cutting (typically $3 to $5 per Blade), or mail your keys to Keyport and we will duplicate them for you.

If you need help at any step, call us at (855) 539-7678 x1 or email [email protected].

What if Keyport cannot identify one of my keys from the photos?

Our key experts review every submission before shipping. If a key is high-security or otherwise outside our standard blank inventory, we contact you directly and ask you to mail a working copy of the key to Keyport. We then perform a Custom Blade Conversion: we remove the head of your original key and attach our universal Keyport head to the body, turning your key itself into a Blade that works in your Slide. The result is the same one-handed silent carry as a standard Blade, on a key Keyport could not match from inventory. Reach us anytime at (855) 539-7678 x1 or [email protected].

How do I reorder Blades I have ordered before?

If you are replacing a Blade for the exact same lock you have ordered for previously, add Standard Blades to your cart in the quantity you need and enter the Blade codes from your previous order in the Special Instructions for Seller field at checkout. Format the codes as SC1 x 2, KW1 x 1, NA14 x 1. No photos required.

Important: the code-based reorder only works when the lock has not changed. A new house, new car, or replaced lock almost always uses a different key type, even when the lock brand is the same. For any new lock, submit fresh photos via the Key ID Form so we can identify the correct blank.

What key types can be cut to a Blade?

Most standard residential, commercial, automotive, motorcycle, and high-security key types. The Keyport catalog supports tens of thousands of standard key blanks across all major manufacturers. For keys outside standard inventory, Keyport offers Custom Blade Conversion: mail your key in and we convert it into a Blade by attaching our universal head to your original key body.

How many Blades fit in a Slide?

The Slide V.01, Slide 2.0, and Slide 3.0 6-Port hold up to 6 Blades. The Slide 3.0 4-Port and the Slide 4.0 LE1 hold up to 4 Blades.

Do Blades work with high-security keys?

Yes. The Keyport catalog supports many high-security residential and commercial key types directly. Submit clear photos of both sides of the key plus any stamped codes on the Key ID Form, and our key experts will confirm the correct blank before shipping. If your high-security key falls outside our standard blank inventory, we offer Custom Blade Conversion: mail your key to Keyport and we will remove the head and attach our universal Keyport head, turning your original key into a Blade that works in your Slide.

Why are Keyport Blades different from a key blank at a hardware store?

A hardware store stocks generic blanks. Keyport supplies a proprietary format with a uniform head profile required for the Slide to function as designed. The format is what enables one-handed deployment, zero pocket flex, and the spring-loaded node mechanism. Cutting itself is still done locally at any locksmith or hardware store, typically $3 to $5 per Blade.

I received a Slide as a gift. How do I order Blades to load it?

The process is the same as any first-time Blade order: add Standard Blades to your cart in the quantity you need (most first-time Slide owners order four to six), complete checkout, and submit phone photos of your keys via the Key ID Form. If your Slide arrived with a gift card or discount code, apply it at checkout. If you have any questions or need help getting started, call us at (855) 539-7678 x1 or email [email protected].
